Trinidad Flores

Alpharetta, Georgia

Java, Calculus and Introductory Applied Mathematics

Overview

I am currently pursuing a Masters of Data Science degree through the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals program. My undergraduate education is in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from MIT and I did graduate work at the University of Michigan for an MBA. While studying engineering and mathematics at MIT, I was a calculus tutor, a C++ teaching assistant and a grader for various courses.

My work experience includes developing applications and tools that were used to monitor processes, track Key Performance Indicators and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities. I’ve led teams ranging from 6 people to organizations as large as 1,500. I love sifting through data looking for trends, identifying opportunities and solving problems. For the last 12 years, I’ve been working in the property & casualty insurance industry. Prior to my time in insurance, I was as an engineering manager for a fiber optic manufacturing facility.

I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia but have lived all over the US. I am an avid runner, cyclist and swimmer. But my true passion is helping others close the gap between knowing and doing. I serve on a school board and am engaging in a few ventures aimed at driving greater awareness and connectivity between STEM related concepts and real life applications for young children.
